West Virginia

Okay so a couple of weeks ago we were lucky enough to visit West Virginia!! For those of you who don't know, Tyler got into West Virginia University's Law school!! We were so excited to visit and see the campus and the area. The first night we stayed in Pittsburgh and then drove to Morgantown, WV in the morning. We had a blast!!!! We have decided that we will either be going to WV, Kansas or Creighton Law school. We have finally started to narrow down our choices!! We should know in about two weeks where we are going for sure!! Here are some pictures from our trip:
It's a bird, it's a plane, it's TYLER!!!!!

Pittsburg

This is our first night there. We drove up to Mount Washington so we could see the whole city. Isn't it beautiful!

Tyler by one of pittsburg's bridges. There are supposibly around 1200 bridges in the city.

More bridges

West Virginia really was wild and wonderful!!! Gotta love it!!

These are the HUGE frat houses!! Party Central on this street!!!!

This was an awesome building! It was the English Department. The campus is absolutly beautiful.

This is the river that runs through Morgantown. The name of it is hard to pronounce so everyone calls it the Mon River. It is beautiful.

West Virginia's Mascot, the Mountaineer. It is really funny because people in West Virginia think that their hills are actually mountains. They told us we could go skiing on their Mountains and we asked where the mountains were. They said, "you are standing on them." ha ha. I guess they have never seen the rockies!!
This is where all of the football players workout at WVU.

The hall of fame of WVU football players

WVU football Stadium. The people in West Virginia love their football. One guy told us that tickets sale for about $100 a seat.

The Paradox of Our Time

Okay well I read this on my cousins blog and thought that it was really neat. So I hope he doesn't mind but I copied it to post on my blog. It really makes you think.

The Paradox of Our Time
by Dr. Bob Moorehead

The paradox of our time in history is that we have taller buildings, but shorter tempers; wider freeways, but narrower viewpoints. We spend more, but have less; we buy more, but enjoy less. We have bigger houses and smaller families; more conveniences, but less time. We have more degrees but less sense; more knowledge, but less judgement; more experts, yet more problems; more medicine, but less wellness.

We drink too much, smoke too much, spend too recklessly, laugh too little, drive too fast, get too angry, stay up too late, get up too tired, read too little, watch TV too much, and pray too seldom. We have multiplied our possessions, but reduced our values. We talk too much, love too seldom, and hate too often.

We've learned how to make a living, but not a life. We've added years to life not life to years. We've been all the way to the moon and back, but have trouble crossing the street to meet a new neighbor. We conquered outer space but not inner space. We've done larger things, but not better things.

We've cleaned up the air, but polluted the soul. We've conquered the atom, but not our prejudice. We write more, but learn less. We plan more, but accomplish less. We've learned to rush, but not to wait. We build more computers to hold more information, to produce more copies than ever, but we communicate less and less.

These are the times of fast foods and slow digestion; big men and small character; steep profits and shallow relationships. These are the days of two incomes but more divorce; fancier houses but broken homes. These are days of quick trips, disposable diapers, throwaway morality, one night stands, overweight bodies, and pills that do everything from cheer, to quiet, to kill. It is a time when there is much in the showroom window and nothing in stockroom. A time when technology can bring this letter to you, and a time when you can choose either to share this insight, or to just hit delete.

Remember, spend some tiem with your loved ones, because they are not going to be around forever.

Remember to say a kind word to someone who looks up to you in awe, because that little person soon will grow up and leave your side.

Remember to give a warm hug to the one next to you, because that is the only treasure you can give with your heart and it doesn't cost a cent.

Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.

My Birthday

I had such a great birthday and just wanted to tell everyone thanks for all that they did to make it such a great day!!! Thanks especially to my cute husband and both sides of our families!!!

My latest obsession

This is my dream boot!! Okay so this past weekend I went with my hubby and In Laws to Logan. While we were there we stopped in a store called C-A-L Ranch. It was a store that basically had all the ranch supplies you could imagine. Not only did it have tools but it also had cowgirl boots, shirts, belts and hats!! I was in heaven!!! After seeing all the cute boots I knew that I wanted to become a real cowgirl!!! I told Tyler that we should drop out of school and just live on a ranch! ha ha!!! BUT SERIOUSLY!!! I mean who wouldn't want to wear these cute boots, ride horses and spend their days in the sun!! Luckily, my In Laws are building a ranch, so maybe one day I will actually get the chance to be a Real Cowgirl! Until then, I guess I will just have to keep dreaming!

The Undaunted

Okay so I just finished reading the BEST book!! It is called Undaunted. I liked it so much that I finished it in about a week. It is a story of the hole in the rock pioneers. It was amazing to read what they went through and see the faith that they had. It also had a really cute love story in it which made it even better!!! So if anyone wants to borrow it let me know. It is just sitting on my shelf right now! I would recommend it to anyone!!!

This is my cute little brother Scott with my little niece grace.

Scott left on his mission today. It was a bitter sweet experience. I always find that it is very hard to say goodbye but on the other hand I am also so excited that they will be serving the lord. When you go down to the MTC now they don't make you go inside and watch that tear jerking movie but instead they make you drop the missionary off at the curb. It makes it a little bit easier to say goodbye!!! I am so proud of him to be going on a mission. I have never gone on one and I think it would take a lot of courage and faith to go. So even though you can't read this anymore, GOOD Job SCOTTIE!!
After we dropped him off and said our goodbyes, we went to my sisters apartment and hung out for a while and then went to the BYU creamery to get some ice cream. They have the BEST ice cream there!! It was a really special day being able to spend it with my family. It really made me so grateful to have such a wonderful family!!! We wish michael and Sara (MY brother and sis in law) could have been there but at least we got to spend a couple of weeks together over christmas!! So I just want to tell me family thanks so much for their friendship and love!! You guys are the best!!!
