This Christmas has been a big adventure!! My parents gave us tickets to come to Utah so despite me being 36 weeks pregnant, we packed up our bags and got ready to go to the airport. While we were hanging out and waiting for our flight - we heard over the intercom that our plane had been canceled. We were shocked. I guess there was a hydrolic leak in the plane. This should have been our first sign not to come to Utah!!
So all the passengers on our flight had to exchange their tickets for a different flight. Ours didn't leave until way Late that night and instead of a direct flight we were going to have to make a layover!! We both weren't feeling very well and didn't know how we were going to stay up so late! It was going to be a long day!! So my super awesome husband went and talked to the flight attendant, told him I was pregnant and got us on a different flight that left in an hour. I was relieved. But now instead of waiting for a couple of hours, we were running through the airport trying to get our luggage and catch our flight. The airlines couldn't find our luggage for a while and were not going to let us on board. They finally gave us the OK to go about 20 minutes before our flight left. So we ran to get through security and I started getting leg cramps. So I was running/hobbling and yelling at Tyler to wait for me. One lady I passed looked at me and said "Wow, look at that pregnant woman run!" ha ha. The best part was that the music from Home Alone was playing in the airport while we were running to catch our flight. We laughed pretty hard about that. We were the last ones to get on the plane but made our flight!!!!
Okay so then we get to Utah and I still am not feeling very well. The doctor gave both me and Tyler some antibiotics before we came for bronchitis. Tyler's were starting to work but mine weren't working at all. I thought that maybe after a couple of days of relaxing I would feel better. Well we waited a couple of days and they medicine still wasn't helping. I was actually feeling worse. I was also getting worried because every time I coughed I would get a big contraction. On the 24th we finally decided that I needed to go see a doctor. The only place in Utah that would accept our insurance was the ER. So we drove over there and luckily there was no wait!
At the ER the nurse came in and told me that my blood pressure was really high - something that I have never had during my pregnancy. This made them worried so they had a lady from Labor and Delivery come down to check the baby's heart beat. Luckily the baby sounded fine. They then did a couple of different tests and found out that I had pneumonia. They told me that they could give me some new antibiotics that would help!!!!
After find out that I had pneumonia the doctor was worried because my contractions were getting stronger and stronger so he told me that they were going to wheel me up to Labor and Delivery!! My mom and Tyler were with me and were both a little nervous - they were timing my contractions and trying to help me to breath!! In the labor and delivery room the nurse strapped some belts around my stomach to track my contractions and the baby's heart beat. My contractions were coming about every 4-5 minutes and were really strong. The nurse gave me an IV and started to give me some liquids. She said that sometimes if you are dehydrated you can get contractions. Well after going through both bags of liquids my contractions were not slowing down but getting stronger! At this point, I thought we were for sure going to have the baby!
The nurse then gave me some morphine to help with the pain and told me she would come back in a couple of hours to see if I was dilating. They still weren't sure if I was in active labor. When she came back in to check I was only dilated to a 2. My contractions had now slowed down to about every 7 minutes. The nurse said the doctor wanted to see me and we would have to wait another couple of hours and get checked again. I was starving at this point and luckily the nurse let me have a Popsicle and some crackers. Well after waiting two more hours and getting checked again I was still dilated at a 2. The doctor then came in and told me I was in false labor and could go home. He said that the contractions were probably caused by the pneumonia. It was midnight when we finally left the hospital!! I was so grateful to be going home. I was also so grateful for all my family that supported me through this!! They were a big help to me!! Poor Tyler had to get up with me that night about 4 times to go to the bathroom because I couldn't sit up on my own!!
Seriously both of mine and Ty's families have been so support and helpful throughout all of this. It was a blessing to have them around us to help us through this!! Thank you to all of my family who stayed up with us at night, and prayed for us and encouraged us!! It meant the world to us! They have given us so much TLC this Christmas and have really been an amazing support.
I threw up on Christmas morning and have been feeling better each day!! I now have a little taste of what labor will feel like and know to eat a HUGE meal before I go to the hospital!! We also learned that it is probably best not to travel eight months pregnant! But most important we really were grateful for all the people around us and the love they gave to us!! We hope that you all had a wonderful Christmas filled with love! We hope your Christmas was a little less crazy than ours!!

Geez! Glad everything worked out. I bet your actual labor will be a breeze now :)
I was worried about you when Grandma was telling me what was happening. I am glad that this little baby has decided to wait for his big arrival and that you are feeling better! Rest up so that you are ready in a couple of weeks. We love you guys!
